Welcome Friends
It’s a pleasure to have you here. I’m Mariah Barr, a fully insured Licensed Massage Therapist based in Crestwood, KY. Originally from Brandenburg and now settled in Oldham County, I’m happily married and a mother to a 10-year-old boy, a fluffy hypoallergenic orange cat, and a sweet Dalmatian.
After leaving a 9–5 healthcare career and focusing on my own healing, I’ve learned the value of slowing down to restore the mind, body, and spirit. Therapeutic massage has helped me manage anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, and release trapped emotions.
I graduated from Advanced Massage Therapeutics in Louisville, KY, in April 2025, receiving training in therapeutic massage. My training is well-rounded and diverse, covering Swedish, stretching, deep tissue, injury assessment, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. I’ve worked part-time with a Crestwood chiropractor and spent a season with Racing Louisville, women’s professional soccer team. I’m currently running my own practice.
I’m certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Bar Therapy through DeepFeet Bar Therapy in Minnesota, training under a leading Sports Ashiatsu therapist. This flowing, dance-like massage is both gentle and powerful, releasing deep tension and truly ignites my passion for massage.
My offering to you is intuitive therapeutic massage. I tune into your energy & needs, to curate the divine experience that your body & spirit ask for. Identifying areas of tension, pain or restriction, your massage is tailored accordingly. I’m eager to help facilitate healing and melt your tensions away, as you surrender in the flow of therapeutic massage.
My services
Ashiatsu Bar Barefoot Massage
Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their bare feet and body weight. Working with gravity instead of against it, Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing discomfort to themselves or the client. Ashiatsu is not painful and is the best, most effective form of deep tissue work. Our feet have more nerve endings per square centimeter than any other part on the body, allowing the therapist to feel and connect with the client in a deeper way than pressure. All of the following services are able to be applied in the style of Ashiatsu.
Therapeutic Massage -
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release uses specific techniques to stretch and repair the connective tissue between your muscles (fascia). It helps your body heal properly from injuries and can restore range of motion.
Deep Tissue Techniques
Designed to remove severe tension, deep tissue a technique used to relieve both muscles and connective tissue below the surface. It helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries below the surface. Currently preforming most deep tissue work in the Ashiatsu style.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy focuses on the release of tension around specific nerve centers found throughout your body. It is great for relieving cramped and overused muscles.
Swedish Techniques
Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. It is a classic massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.
Massage for Injuries
Massage therapy to help facilitate healing for injuries is a mix of myofasical, trigger point, deep tissue, Swedish and PNF stretching. Injury massage works by breaking down scar tissue, improving blood flow, reducing inflammation and enhancing flexibility. Repetitive strain issues are the most common, and can show up as shoulder pain, low back pain, hip pain, hamstring pulls, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, rotator cuff pain, frozen shoulder, patella tendonitis, whiplash, tennis elbow, golfer's (climber's) elbow and ankle sprain. I also perform side-lying pregnancy massage for expecting mothers in their second and third trimester.
Muscular Imbalance Consulting - COMING SOON
I am currently in the process of obtaining my 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training. With this and my knowledge of anatomy, I am creating individualized exercise and self-massage plans for clients looking for a more in-depth treatment of injuries and pain. I will mix dynamics of yoga with exercises that focus on strength, stability and fundamental movements, to help train the body using movements that mimic daily life. Functional strength training aims to address the root causes of pain and dysfunction by correcting muscle imbalances and poor posture through individualized exercises. Blending these movements with tools to regulate the nervous system, will ideally restore movement and create balance from the nervous system to the muscular system, for lasting results.
Add Ons: Basalt Hot Stones and Silicone Myofascial Cupping can be added to appointments at no additional charge. CBD massage oil upgrade is $10.
